“[...] suddenly, scaldingly, holdingly all nowhere gone and time absolutely still and they were both there, time having stopped and he felt the earth move out and away from under them.”
(For Whom the Bell Tolls - Ernest Hemingway)
We chase chimeras, sometimes for years,
And if we're lucky, we get a few hours where the time stops and the earth stands still,
We ask our loved ones to hold us tight and shed us from our fears,
But when they leave, we find out we can only do that by our own act of will.
